Product Disclaimer

CONSUMER WARNING: READ IMMEDIATELY

These warnings should be read prior to the use or purchase of HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS products.

Firearms are dangerous weapons.

FIREARMS AND HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS PRODUCTS SHOULD BE KEPT OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.

The use of a firearm under any condition may be dangerous. Serious personal injury or even death could occur without proper training in the safe handling of firearms by an accredited firearms safety program. No person should handle any firearm unless such person has successfully completed an accredited firearms safety program. Great care should be used when handling, storing or transporting firearms or when placing or removing a firearm from your HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holster. We strongly recommend that a regular practice routine, with an unloaded firearm, be utilized to assure the continued capabilities of both product and user.

By using this holster the user agrees to take full responsibility for any action that may occur in conjunction with the use of this holster, and further, the user agrees to hold HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS, its owners, and employees, free from any responsibility, liability or damage that may result from the holster’s use.

PROPER HOLSTER FIT

AN IMPROPERLY FITTING HOLSTER MAY LEAD TO EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE HANDGUN AND/OR AN ACCIDENTAL HANDGUN DISCHARGE.

NEVER PLACE A LOADED HANDGUN IN A HOLSTER WITHOUT FIRST TESTING, IN AN UNLOADED CONDITION (DOUBLE-CHECKING TO MAKE SURE THE CHAMBER IS EMPTY), FOR PROPER FIT WITH THE HANDGUN.

Although HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS attempts to provide accurate information regarding which specific holster models were designed to accommodate a specifically identified handgun, or handguns, HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS does not warrant the accuracy of such information and specifically disclaims any responsibility or liability for, or consequences resulting from errors or inaccuracies of such information. Users are advised not to rely on such compatibility information but are advised to personally verify holster/handgun compatibility in each and every case using actual products.

Handgun manufacturers continually update manufacturing specifications in their quest for better products. These changes may occur one or more times within a particular handgun model year, and make it difficult for proper handgun identification and holster fit.  If the user has any questions or doubt concerning holster fit CEASE USE IMMEDIATELY.

BE ADVISED, THAT IT IS THE USER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO PERIODICALLY CHECK HIS OR HER HOLSTER AND RELATED HARDWARE FOR PROPER FIT AND FUNCTION. Should any product, including a HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS product, become worn, loose, broken, defective or ill fitting, CEASE USE IMMEDIATELY.

HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS builds each holster with the utmost care to insure proper holster fit.  Even so, the possibility remains that THE HOLSTER MAY SCRATCH OR MAR THE FINISH OF THE HANDGUN.  Even if the holster is built exactly to the proper specifications and the proper care instructions described in this disclaimer are followed.  BE ADVISED, HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS™ IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR TO THE FIREARM AS A RESULT OF THE HOLSTERS USE.  Further, by using the holster the user agrees to free HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS, its owners, and employees, from any responsibility or liability that results from any damage that may occur to the firearm.

OTHER VERY IMPORTANT WARNINGS

DO NOT use HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holsters with custom or modified guns, broken, worn or inferior manufactured guns, including guns that are not of original factory specifications.

DO NOT use after-market grips, grip adapters, target hammers, target triggers, or trigger shoes. After market handgun modifications may cause improper holster fit and ACCIDENTAL HANDGUN DISCHARGE.

Never attempt to modify HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS products in any way. Doing so, can cause severe damage to either the handgun or holster, or both, and may cause an ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE.

Do not attempt to cock a handgun while holstered. Doing so, can cause severe damage to either the handgun or holster, or both, and may cause an ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE.

Great care should be used when placing or removing a handgun from your HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holster.  It is the user’s responsibility to exercise extreme caution when handling or carrying any handgun and to assume at all times that the gun is loaded. Carrying any handgun with a live cartridge in the chamber immediately in front of the firing pin may cause an ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE. Single action revolvers and some semi-automatic pistols should be carried with the hammer or firing pin resting on an empty chamber. HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holsters that are “open top” (no safety strap and no thumb break) are designed to be carried in all safe “conditions of carry” as, specified by the firearm manufacturer. For information on how to safely carry your particular handgun, please refer to your handgun manufacturer’s safety and instruction manual.

Some users of certain handgun models insist on carrying the weapon in what is referred to as a cocked and locked condition (i.e., the gun is cocked with the safety engaged). HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS does not recommend or approve of any such practice, and advises against it. Carrying a handgun in this condition INCREASES THE RISK OF ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE.

A HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holster IS NOT snatch-proof or take-a-way-proof. Therefore, the user must exercise extreme diligence at all times in any situation where another person may attempt to take the user's handgun.

Always make sure your gun is fully seated in the holster. During vigorous physical activity, including running or jumping, you SHOULD NOT rely on your holster’s retention capabilities; the gun should be held in place with the user’s hand to prevent the handgun from falling out of the holster.  Failure to do so could result in an ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE.

The HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holster is not a safety device and should not be used as a substitute for a safety device.  When not in use, the firearm should be secured according to the manufacturer’s instructions.  Failure to do so could result in an ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE.

The user must always keep their fingers clear of the handgun’s trigger when drawing or re-holstering the handgun in the holster. The user should ALWAYS place the index finger on the outside of trigger guard to resist foreign objects interference when re-holstering.  ALWAYS CHECK THE HOLSTER FOR A FOREIGN OBJECT PRIOR TO RE-HOLSTERING THE HANDGUN.  FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE.

PROPER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holsters are built from a material called Kydex.  For the most part, Kydex, is a very durable material. It will not retain moisture and will clean easily with a quick rinse. That said, there are a few key points the user should pay attention to with regards to HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holsters:

1) Like all other holsters, a HAZMAT HOLSTER WORKS holster will retain dirt, sweat, powder residue, oil, and other daily grime that may create an abrasive surface.   This can add to the wear a firearm endures. When the holster is dirty, simply wash it out with soap and water.

2) Once the holster is clean and dry, lightly lubricate the inside of the holster with a few drops of gun or other lubricating oil.

3) Once the gun carry settings have been decided, a drop of blue threadlocker should be placed on the threads of the mounting hardware. Doing so will insure that the hardware and belt loops remain mounted to the holster.  The threadlocker should be applied only after the mounting hardware has been cleaned and de-greased.

4) DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOLSTER IN A HOT VEHICLE, especially in the sun. A holster left on the dashboard of a vehicle during a hot day can reach the temperature required to deform it. Simply putting the holster in the trunk of a car or under a seat is usually sufficient to keep it from deforming.
